The contest resolved itself into a battle of styles, Sycamore preferring boxing of the fast," open, order, while Leek re exploited his favourite in-fighting tactics. Leckie was too clever for his opponent and was ahead hv a fair margin on points at the finish, although Sycamore made recreated, but fruitless attempts to land a knock-out over the final stages. The decision met with a mixed reception.
