ALL BLACK ROWERS.
INTER-STATE RACES. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION WELLINGTON, April i. , The New Zealand eight-oared crew and sculler returned by the Uliriiaroa to-day and were welcomed by the Council of. the New Zealand Rowing Association. The crew disbands to-day wheii the Marlborough members leave by the-Arahura, southern .members by the Wahirie, and the northern members by the Main Trunk Express. Replying to the Welcome," Mr. A. J. Laughlan, the manager, said the visit had put New Zealand oiy the map as far as rowing was concerned in Australia. He stated that arrangements would he discussed at. an inter-state conference in Australia this'*month,- by which it was hoped that /the winners of the inter-state eights, would compete againt New Zealand every two years;' the race taking, place alternately in'each country. Failing that, the New South Wales Association would alivays be glad to extend or accept an invitation to New Zealand. I and the rest, of the crew liave come hack convinced that in New Zealand we should endeavour to encourage eight-oared bowing.
