ACCLIMATISATION.
INTERESTING TO SPORTSMEN
ENGLISH BIRDS TO BE INTRODUCED'.
It was natural that in the course of his tom- of England, Mr. 8.... C. Bennett, the president of the Acclimatisation Society, should make inquiry with a view to seeing if anything could "he done to- help the society. He said lie was not able to do anything like as, much as he had hoped; but he made many inquiries towards securing fresh strains of pheasants, and has everything now in train for
having some of these, as well as other English ganie birds, sent out- to the Dominion. This will bo exceedingly welcome news to sportsmen in the Province, and it will' be hoped that the birds can be acclimatised.
He brought out a, very fine 'mounted cock pheasant which he secured at Tenby, in Yorkshire. His efforts willserve still further to emphasise the valuable work he is doing and has done for many years on behalf of the cause of acclimatisation in the Dominion.
