RIVERLEA.

(From Our Own Correspondent). TENNIS CLUB. A further meeting in connection with the proposal to form a tennis club at Jiiverlea was held in the hall on Monday evening, when Mr. A. E,. Mills presided over a fair attendance, of whom several werf ladies. Mr. 11. C. Webbv was elected secretary for the meeting. On the motion of Mr. Webby, seconded by Mr. M. Malone, it was resolved to form a, tennis club and all present were elected members. Mr A. E. Mills was elected president and Mr. B. C. Webby secretary. The election of a patron and of vice-presi-dents was left over till, next meeting. Considerable discussion took place when the estimates prepared by the committee set up for the pux-pose were presented, ' and it was eventually decided, on the motion of Messrs Webby and \V. Hey, that a concrete foundation court with asphaltic dressing he gone on with. On the motion of Mr. M. Malone, seconded by Mr. Hey, it was resolved that members subscriptions be : gentlemen £l, and ladies 10s. CRICKET. A very sad ceremony was performed at Victoria Dark, Kaponga, on Thursday last, when the ashes of River Lea cricket were interred there without muen ceremony. The last sad rites ,yere conducted by a Driest named Morgan, and the tact that he had Betts on the result also greavtiy assisted to facilitate matters. It is rumoured here that there was great unprecedenieu activity amongst poultry on the same day, and that Victoria Dark was white viili duck's eggs.
