TROOPS STAND BY. 12.000 MINERS IDEE. I ST. JOHN, March 0. Tlie greatest labour dispute in Eastern Canada for many years reached a climax when 12.000 of the British Empire Steel Corporation’s miners struck work. Troops have been ordered to Stand by, for trouble is feared in the corporation’s towns. • The strike came when the corporation refused to restore the credit of the workers at the stores.
