CORRESPONDENCE.

THE NAME NOLANTOWN

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —I was distressed to see in your issue of Saturday that there is a ..possibility of the name Nolantown being altered. The name, of course, started because one of the first houses there was the late Sir Robert Nolan’s. Surely, sir, considering his services to Hawera, New Zealand and the Empire, the people of Hawera should be proud to record the fact that he lived in Hawera so many years. Hoping that some abler pen than mine will take this matter up.—l am, etc., RETURNED SOLDIER. Hawera, March 23.
