Received March 24, S.oO a.m. LONDON, March 23. The Daily 'Mail .says that the Earl of Bal lour arrived at Alexandria, on the 23rd. He stays in Egypt for a week and them proceeds to Jerusalem, where he may set a spark to the powder. The dratfing of the Ninth Lancers from Cairo to Jerusalem indicates the seriousness of the position. ESgiVt armoured cars are leaving Cairo to guard, the Palestine railway during Earl of Balfour’s journey. Am Arab boycott will result in all shops being closed, and the newspapers aire appearing in black borders. Native officials in Government offices are ab-' senting themselves. Earl of Balfour will be refused access to the Mosque of Omni-, built on the isite of the ancient temple of Jerusalem. —Sydney Sun Cables.
