l'lie weekly luncheon of the Hawera Rotarv Club'was held to-chi.y, Rotarian Dr. Thomson presiding. soloist of the day was Rptarian F. W. Sutton, and the speaker Rotarian Bond, who gave a short address on “The Press of New Zealand.” Great satisfaction was expressed by rotarians when it was announced that the sheep offered at auction the preceding day at the Farmers’ Co-op. on behalf of the Plunket Society’s building fund had realised £9] Is 6(1. It was suggested that Rata nans should further participate and bring the amount up to £IOO. The response was prompt, and the amounts handed in to Secretary Salmon brought the total up to £lOl Is 6d.
