Wh’jbnesis, continuing, said that at Templeton, in February he questioned Mount about lids wife’s disappearance, mid the accused said that he lrad no idea where she had gone, though, he had been instructed by her that she would like to to Purakanui, land she asked him: to bring, some clothes down Mo nab said he had not tieen able to find his wife at Purakanui or Oamaru, so lie left the clothes with his mother. Witness asked Albu:at why’ a .sheet and a blanket Wad been washed at Rockford Street on the morning of the disappearance. Mount replied that his wife washed them. . Alon-at admitted he was in financial trouble. Witness .said that Mo-wait denied that there had been any quarrell. or that he had struck his wife accidentally. The accused, was remanded.
