LABOUR TROUBLES.
DEADLOCK AT NEW PLYMOUTH. (BY TRTjEGHAI’U —pkess association.,) NEW PLYMOUTH, March 12. The steamer John is being worked by the crew, the only watersiders 1 engaged being four men employed by the Railway Department to work the trucks.' A meeting of the union passed a resolution calling on the Labour Department to prosecute the owners for an alleged breach of the award by creating a lock-out. Flour* stocks are perilously low. A deputation of traders visited the wharf this morning, but the watersiders’ meeting would not give them a hearing. The deadlock continues. WATERFRONT SITUATION AT LYTTELTON. CHRISTCHURCH, March 12-. The watersiders at ' Lyttelton tins morning again gave notice, of tlieir intention not to. work overtime. The port is congested, and there is a mg shortage of labour.
