HASTENING SLOWLY. WASHINGTON. Feb. 21. A great crowd watched the Finnish athelete. Nurmi, hold the watch on himself while covering 3000 metres in 7 min 46 2-osec. Presumably Nurmi did not wish to break a record, because every time he glanced at the watch, which he carried in his right hand, he slackened pace. The crowd, however, gave him an ovation.
