For the continuation" of the Welling-ton-Victoria match conditions were again favourable this morning, and the wicket was in good order. With eight wickets down for 163, Wellington continued its second innings with James (19) and Henderson (3). James was run out without increasing his total through an unfortunate misunderstanding. 166—9—19. Brice was last, and brought 170 up with three good strokes. Wallace bowled from the other end. Henderson brought- 180 up with a four off Hartkopf. With a total of 193 Ebeling failed to hold a chance from Brice after juggling with the ball. A three to Henderson brought 200 up, Henderson, being 20. Liddicutt renlaced Hartkopf and Ebeling replaced Wallace. Austen dropped Henderson behind the wicket. The end came at 217. Henderson being clean bowled by Ebeling. Details: James, run out 19 Henderson, b Ebeling 30 Brice, not out 12 Extras 27 Bowling analysis: Wallace none for 21, Ebeling two for 34. Liddicutt two for 27, Hartkopf three for 62, Millar two for 16. Austen none for 20, Willis none for 10. With 237 runs needed to win, Victoria commenced its second innings at 12.30, Mayne and Woodfull opening to the bowling of Badcoek and Brice. Runs [came at a slow rate. Hiddleston replaced Brice, who was not presenting many difficulties. Henderson bowled in ] place of Badcoek. Barclay was given I a trial in place of Hiddleston when the [total was 44, and Collins replaced Heniderson. At the luncheon- adjournment !no wickets were down for 49 !
