HAWERA COUNTY COUNCIL.
CONTINUATION OF MEETING. At the meeting of the Hawera County Council, arising out of the report of the foreman, it was decided to take stepsi to raise; the extra 10 per cent, in connection with the Ngawhine R'oad. It was also .decided thait an estimate be worked out for the Mungamunga. bridge. A request from Ti rimnana, Gorge settlers for work was received. The foreman said, to do the work properly, all the water-tables would need to be taken up and raised from the top to the bottom. He had bad to clear slips, lately. It would be a big job. The matter was left for the foreman, to report. > A. onnrnlaint of trucks standing at the Tawhiti Road crossing and obscuring the view of road users was mentioned by C-rs. Lysaght and Larcom, and it' was resolved to write to the department in the matter. A request was considered from Mr. Lee for work to be done on the Deuby Road, and it was decided to refer the matter to the foreman', It' was mentioned incidentally that no permission had been given to' remove sand and shingle from the foreshore at Waihi. FINANCIAL POSITION. The county clerk reported that the position was as follows:—Receipts: Rates, etc., collected, £3253 4s 3d; tolls, £l76'l4ts 3d; sundries, £Bl 3s lOd; total, £3511 2s 4d. Liabilities: Bank overdraft, £4lll ; accounts, £2410—£6521-
