SECRET SECTS
DISC USTING PRACTICES. REVELATIONS IN RUSSIA. SOVIET LEADERS ALARMED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received March 7, 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Alarch 6. The Morning Post's Moscow correspondent says: The trial has opened in connection with an extraordinary religious sect recently founded in the province of Yoihynia. Owing to . the persecution of tiie Church, tiie peasantry were unable to satisfy their devotional needs, so formed a number of secret sects, in which perverted religious and sexual ideas were prevalent. The founder of one sect, a peasant named Kornei, rejects marriage on the gorund that Adam and Eve were never married. He preaches that children born in wedlock are unholy tilings and must be killed. T/.imbaluik, a member of the sect, having four children aged from 5 to 15, put them to bed and murdered them with a poker. He then set lire to the house. Kornei, TV.iinhaluik, and other members of the sect are now lieing tried. The number of similar secret sects and murder societies that are springing up in Russia is alarming Soviet leaders. —-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn
