EUROPEAN PEACE

HOAV TO SECURE IT

VISCOUNT GREY'S ADVICE

INCLUSION OF GERMANY

BY CABLE -PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. (Received March 6, 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, March 5. Viscount Grey told Liberal Parliamentarians that no French Government dare, surrender their Rhine pledges until France was given security. A Franco-British-Belgian pact would not give security, but would tend towards war. Any" arrangement to which France, Britain and Germany were parties might develop into real security. Meanwhile the British public must recognise that the way to help European peace was to make some firm offer to promote European security in which the Empire can join. European security was as important to Britain as to the Continental countries, because Britain was part of the Continent owing to the invention of big guns, submarines and aircraft. —Sydney Sun Cable.
