RIFLE SHOOTING.
LOCAL NOTES. The heavy downpour of rain on Saturday afternoon last made shooting impossible on the lcoal range, a.ml the match between New Plymouth and Hawera. had to be abandoned before the final squad had completed shooting at 600 yards range. Two rounds of - the competition for Messrs. Bennett and Sutton’s Cup have now been completed and the final round is to be fixed on Slaturday next. The scores in this competition at present are as follows :
(The best two shoots will be counted only.). , The third round for -the championship belt and for Messrs. Hallonstein Bros, cup will also be fired on Saturday next. The, Greytowm. Club have postponed the Papnwai meeting to la, date to b" arranged later to fit in with the Notional" meeting at Trentham. Riflemen generally will welcome the Greytown Cl lib’a decision.
