FALL FROM BICYCLE.

MB. J. C. SMITH INJURED. A nasty accident happened to Mr J. C. Smith’ of the Central Auction Mart, Hawera, yesterday afternoon. It appears that he was cycling out to Tokaora, and faced with a heavy westerly, he took advantage of a tow from a car driven by Mr Donnelly unknown to the driver. Apparently his. machine skidded, for Mr Donnelly, hearing a crash, pulled up, and found Mr. Smith was on the road half unconscious and bleeding somewhat badly from wounds on the head. Medical aid was summoned, and Mr Smith was taken to a private hospital. There it was discovered that his injury consisted of bad cuts above the eye, and bruises, and m addition he was very badly shaken. Inquiry this morning showed that, though very-stiff and sore, he was progressing satisfactorily, and was expected to be fit to be taken home this afternoon.
