YTSTT OF A GREAT SINGER. WILLIAM HEUGHAN. It is announced that William Heughan, the great Scottish dramatic basso cantante, who recently created such a furore amongst music lovers in Wellington, will appear in the Opera House on Friday, 27th inst. In this great artiste we have one who has scored success upon success throughout the principal cities of the world. The Sydney Bulletin writes: “William Heughan finished up his recitals in the Town Hall in a blaze of glory.” The Wellington critics have been most eulogistic in his praise, and are unanimous in the opinion that he is the greatest artiste who has visited New Zealand for many years. He is assisted by the brilliant young violinist, Hyman Lenzer, who by reason of perfect technique, virtuosity and profound musicianship never fails to enrapture his audience. He is further assisted by Gladys Saver, a wellknown English pianiste, a soloist of unusual brilliancy and power, an aecompaniste of true sympathy and understanding. Box plan to-morrow morning at Everybody’s Sweet Shop. ’Phone 639.
