Two calls were made, one at 7.45 o’clock and one at 9.30 o’clock, lint in each ease there was no response. Absolutely no reason was given for the action. Difficulty wag also experienced in manning the coastal steamer Breeze, only one gang being available. The employers held a meeting this morning, but decided to take no action at present. Further calls are to be made tins afternoon.

Watersiderg at Lyttelton this morning accepted a. call for meat loading labour for the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Tekoa. MAR AM A’S CREW. RIFF I CULT Y OY ER COATE. (liv Telegraph.—Special to Star.) WELLINGTON, Feb 23. The difficulty of manning the Alarama seems to have disappeared upon the understanding that any of the former crew c/f the Moeraki returning to Australia, do so as passengers. It is reported that a full crew for the Alarama will sign on at 2 o’clock, enabling the steamer to sail for Sydney at 5 o’clock to-day.
