THREE DEATHS REPORTED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Feb. 23, 10.4.5' a.m. BRISBANE, Feb. 23. The heat wave in Brisbane lias been responsible for three deaths. The maximum temperature xvau 108.

An earlier message stated that at Jundah 120 degrees were registered, and the residents of the town commenced to move into Longveach, the nearest town, to secure a measure of relief from the unbearable conditions. The intense heat hung up shearing operations at several stations. The vegetation is burning up in many parts of the State, and great mortality among stock is reported. There has been one fatality, so far as is known, a labourer on a station collapsing in the heat from apoplexy.
