STRIKERS AND POLICE CLASH. BY CABLE- PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. (Received Feb. 20, 11.40 a.m.) PEKING. Feb. 19. Native police, in conjunction with settlement police at Shanghai, broke up a meeting of strikers on the border of the settlement. They arrested 16, whereupon the crowd stormed the Chinese police station, but were dispersed by the police firing volleys. Nobody was injured. An official statement shows that there are 308.000 strikers, involving six Japanese cotton mills, comprising 22 factories.—Reuter.
