MANAIA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.VISIT OF AtINISTER, FOR. LANDS. At a further meeting of representatives of "vYaimate West local authorities, held last night, further consideration was given, to- the visit on Friday of the Hon A. D. AleLeod, A finis ter of Lands. It was arranged that Air N. S. Nielson, chairman of the Town Board, w-oiiTd welcome the Hon A. D. McLeod on behalf of the citizens of Manaia and district, and also speak on behalf of a deputation of the Town Board urging the Alinister to have the railway completed -to Manaia as soon as possible; also the- revaluation of the town district-, and for the Government to make a contribution to the. cost of the upkeep of the redoubt which was erected ln : the, A.C. in 1881. Air E. Long, chairman of the Waimate West County Council, will: speak on the completion of the railway to Manaia; the abolition of toll-gates; heavy traffic, contribution to the cost of mads; revaluation of the W.AY.C. County. Air A. G Bennett will represent the Chamber of Commerce, and speak on several matters of interest to that 1 body. The deputations will meet at the .Manaia Town Hall at 10 a.m
