FALL FROM CLIFF
At about 10 a.m. on Wednesday a young man named A. Swinl'ord, while strolling around the cliffs in the vicinity of Opunake Day, misstepped and fell over the cliff, landing on the shingle below. Fortunately the fall ford coming in contact with a, small ledge- about 20ft. from the bottom. Residents on the beach were quickly on the -scene, and summoned Dr Church, who found that the young man had had a- miraculous escape, and, apart from a, slight concussion and a severe shaking, no other injuries were sustained. He. was at once removed to the local hospital and is now reported to lie doing well. THE WEATHER. Following one of the driest periods experienced for some years on the coast, welcome rains fell on Sunday and intermittent showers on the succeeding two days. The pastures have quickly regained their coat of green, but the heavy fall that had taken place- in the milk supply at dairy factories is not likely to he made up.
