AUCKLAND WOOL SALE. RANGE OF PRICES. 'BY TKLTGR A PIT I'RKSS AKHOOTA HON.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 11. ' The Auckland wool sale was concluded to-day, 80 per cent, of the offerings being sold. The opening prices were generally maintained. Bidding was somewhat irregular, although some lot created very spirited bidding. This wa.s especially noticeable in the case of wools pooled and reelassed at brokers’ stores. High reserves were again responsible for much good wool being passed in, but considering the drop that has taken place between the record sale in December last and the present sale, the clearance, effected was regarded as very satisfactory. Competition was practically between Bradford and the Continent, about erptal quantities being taken. A few extra super lots were secured for the American trade. Local mills niicl scourers were competing keenly for good bellies and pieces at reduced prices. The following gives the approximate range of prices realised for the offerings at the sale, compared with the record sale of last December: Merino —Average, February, —; December, 33d to 35Ad. Fine halfbred —Super, —; average, December, 32d to 34d; inferior, —. Medium halfbred—Average, February, 23d to 20Ad December, 30d to 33d. Coarse halfbred—Super, February, 21d to 22d; December, 30d to 31 d; average, lSd to 20d and 27d to 29d. Fide crossbred —Super, February, 22d to 23Ad; December, 28d to 29-Ad; average, 20d to 22A and 24d to 26d; inferior, lSd to 20 dand 22d to £4d. Medium crossbred —Super, February, 20d to 21d; December, 2nd to 27d; average, 18d to 19d and 23d to 24d; inferior, lod to 17Ad and 20d to 22d. Coarse crossbred —Super, February, 17-Ad to 19Ad; December, 23d to 25d: average. 16d to 17d and 21d to 23d; Inferior, 14d to lod and 20d to 21d.
