Replying to a deputation last night regaiding the Apprentices Act. the Minister of Labour, the Hon Mr Anderson, made an appeal to employers to give the Act a fair trial. He was very disappointed with those employers who had not set up committees. If anything, the Act was more in favour of the employers than the em. psoyees. “ 1 make another appeal tonight to the employers through New 'pnland to set up those committees and endeavour to make the Act workable.” he concluded. “If it is found ’that the Act is not workable then it n be amended, but I believe it. is workable. ”
