During yesterday's. thunderstorm the fusing of electric, wires in various places, disorganised the train and tram cervices. Several places struck by lightning were severely damaged. The electric power .substation at Ca*iberrell was destroyed and a. house at Balwvn was wrecked. •Many narrow escapes were reported. Heavy rain accompanied the storm , this and the falls during the previous days, promise a bowler’s, wicket for tomorrow’s test match. The. ground is sodden and. the weather is unsettled.
