WOOL SALES.
DECLINE AT AUCKLAND
(BY TELEGRAPH ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, Feb. 10.
The Auckland wool sales opened tonight. There was a good bench of buyers, hut there was not the same activity as at the previous sale. Consequently prices showed a general decline of several pence. Quite a large number of lots were passed in. The highest price to-night was 26-j-d. The sale, which was continued until a very late hour, will continue to-morrow.
SYDNEY QUOTATIONS. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT SYDNEY, Feb. ’.9. At the 00l sales the market all found showed great irregularity. Compared with the January sales, prices for superfine wools revealed little variation, but super wools of the broader type declined by from 5 to 71 per cent, medium by 10 per cent, and skirtings by 1.0 to 12J per cent. Crossbreds also declined by from 7} to 10 per emit. Greasy merino sold to 38d.
