BUILDING STILL SAFE.

RESTORATION FUND INCREASING BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON, Feb. 8. The, St. Paul’s restoration, fund opened, by The Times has now reached £227,857. Canon Alexander, preaching at St. Paul’s, deprecated the sensational statements that people were, now aroused to a sense that 'all was not well with St. Paul’s. This was right, but there was not need for panic. A great deal had been- done to strengthen the structure during: the last twelve years. “Our present advisers, who know the facts, tell us that the building will soon, become dangerous if adequate remedies are not applied/’ added the preacher, “but at present there is perfect safety, and all that human skill .and science, can suggest is being done, to keep the golden cross uplifted over the city.’’
