The newspaper Sun announces that it has undertaken to provide a gold cup for presentation to. the crew winning the eight oar race between New Zealand and New South Wales, to he rowed on the Parramatta River on March 14. The Sun suggests to the New South Wales Rowing Association that an annual challenge race should he contested alternatively in Australia and New Zealand, find should be rowed for a permanent trophy. Southgate, has been placed as medically unfit owing to an injury received when lifting a boat off the Mararoa at Wellington on the way to Hamilton. C. F.
