AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 5. The Auckland swimming championship carnival was concluded to-night before a disappointing attendance. There was a great surprise in the 220 yards’ men champions,hip, A. D. Adamson defeating J. Enwright after an exciting contest. Enwright was in his best form, but he met- his match in Adamson, who covered the distance in the excellent time of 2min 36sec. The winner is a. 19-year-ol.d youth, who recently came to Auckland from Hawke’s Bay. The results are 220 yards ' men’ .^championship.—A: D. Adamson 1, J. Enwright 2. D. Pelham 3. Won by a foot. ' DUNEDIN, Feb. 6. At the Otago swimming championships, the 100 yards was won by H. U. Bailey in Otago record time of 64sec. C. Lewis won the 220 yards for a second year in 3.17 3-5, and Minnie .Tepson won the 100 yards ladies’ , in 75sec. '' •...
