The Times’ Tangier correspondent/ in describing the operations resulting in ltaisuli’s surrender says that the Rift's encircled and attacked Tazrut on the 25th. The lighting resulted in heavy losses on both sides. Raisuli’s force's were heavily outnumbered and were driven back. Tazrut fell on the 27th. Raisuli took shelter in an ancestor’s tomb, to which he was carried, as he was unable to stand or walk owing to dropsy in the legs. When the Riff leaders arrived, he surrendered, stating that if his were spared he would obey Abd el Krim’s orders whatever they . were. The Riffs are strongly guarding Tazrut. —Ti mes. NO SEPARATION. SPANISH DIRECTOR'S DECLARATION. PATRIOTIC DEMONSTR ATIO'NS. Received Feb. 3, 9.10 a.m. MADRID, Feb. 2. Reuter’s Barcelona correspondent, says: “Sunday was given up to patriotic demonstrations on the occasio 11 of the visit by Prince de Rivera, • who dweLt on the benefits conferred on Barcelona by the establishment of the Directory. He declared that a certain intensity of local Oatalonian sentiment had been exploited by a. few persons who were playing into the hands of covetous foreigner's. He stated that the Government would not tolerate even, the theory of separation. De Rivera incidentally mentioned that financial overtures 'had been made to the Riffs in order to 'secure the release of prisoners, but they would never be utilised to obtain military advantages. Numerous local dignitaries participated in demonstrations and delivered patriotic speeches.—Reuter.
