Smith received the heavier punishment and had to be helped to liis corner in the eighth round- He recovered sufficiently to come up again. GRIME BEATS FOX. MELBOURNE Feb. 1. Billy Grime heat Joe Fox in the thirteenth round, when the fight was stopped. Fox was outclassed. WIN FOR GIBBONS. NEW YORK. Jan. 31. At Denver. Tommy Gibbons stopped Tim Herman, of Omaha, in the third of a scheduled ten-round bout. Herman was so completely out that the referee did not count.
