ONE AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE

WELLINGTON, Jan. 28

The Executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union to-day expressed itself against any suggestion of two agricultural colleges being established m the Dominion.

Air. AY. D. Mathieson, moved a motion which was carried strongly supporting one good college. He said .that they had a dreadful example of the Government promising two schools of forestry, after they had waited for years for one good one. Mr. W. J. Poison deplored parochial feeling in the matter. H e did not care whether the college was in Auckland or Southland, so long as they got one good college. A ROUGH TIME. WELLINGTON, Jan. 28. After being delayed for 24 hours by the southerly gale, the Maheno arrived this morning. Owing to thick weather. Captain Norton was- unable to make out the land, and decided to remain in the Straits for the night. The seas were heavy, and passengers had an unenviable time. Several cabins were flooded, but no material damage was done.
