NEW MOTOR MIXTURE.

CASTOR OIL AND DRIPPING. Having negotated the worst part of his journey round Australia on ah.p. Duoglas motor cycle, A. W. Grady, who left Perth on October 1, and travelled north about, arrived at Grafton, after a most eventful trip. Grady travelled up the west coast to Broome, and then out across through Hall’s Creek to the Western Australian border. Here he met Jim Reid, who left Sydney, nearly a year ago, to walk aroud Australia. He. ran out of lubricating oil, but purchased from a station store a quantity of castor oil, dripping, and steam cylinder oil, which he churned up. He got through to Wave Hill, 300 miles away, on this. On another occasion he resorted to a mixture of petrol and kerosene. On one stage an aborigine on horseback acted as guide for- 150 miles. Grady was lost for two days shortly after entering the Northern Territory, and one tyre was badly damaged in a, bush fire, from which he had a thrilling escape.
