ORANGE BLOSSOMS.
HUGHSON—MoLEAN. A, wedding of considerable interest took place at the Methodist Church, Opunake, on January 21, when Janet Flora, eldest daughter of Mrs. A. McLean, was married to Robert H. Hughiscn, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Hughson, Riahotu. The Rev. E. B. Chambers, assisted by the Rev. R. Welsh (of Pahiatua) officiated, and Miss Dorothy Sinclair presided at the organ. The church was artistically decorated/* a special feature being a floral wedding bell, under which the bride and bridegroom stood. • . The bride, who' entered the church on the arm of her uncle, Mr. Donald McLean, of Wellington,, looked cha,ruling in a frock of ivory satin moracain,, draped on one side with side panel and sleeves of radium lace. A, train; of ivory moracain trimmed with shell pink georgette fell from the shoulders. Her tulle veil fell in. graceful folds from a wreath of orange blossoms. An exquisite bouquet of hot-house flowers and maidenhair fern completed a charming toilet. Miss Agnes McLean, an apricot eirepe-de-ohintc and radium lace with short apricot tulle veil, and Miss Eileen. Hughson., in mauve georgette and veil to match, attended the bride. Both carried bouquets with streamers to match. Little Lois Hughson and Eunice Raynor acted as train bearers and Mona Sinclair as flower girl. Mr. Gordon Hughson was best man, and Mr. Laurence ‘ Sinclair, of Opotiki, groomsman. During the .signing of the register Mrs. F. Ferry, of New Plymouth, sang a sacred solo. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Town Hall, at which a large number of guests were received by Mrs. McLean, who was dressed in a frock of grey moracain, with hat to match. Mrs. T. P. Hughson. senr.. wore a nigger brown erepe-de-chine frock, with hat to match. Mrs. W. Mander, of Wellington, black silk moracain frock with black lace cape and hat to match. Mrs. Donald McLean, of Wellington, black satin moracain frock trimmed with lace and lace cape, with hat to match. Mrs, F. Ferry, of New Plymouth, cream jersey silk costume embroidered in black, with black hat. After the toast of the bridesmaids, Mrs. Ferry sang an-other-song. and regionded to the emphatic recall. Later in the afternoon the liappv couple departed amid showers of confetti and good wishes n n a motor tour to Auckland and Rotorua, the bride wearing a nigger brown coat frock and marabout with hat to match.
