EMPLOYMENT OE EX-SERVICE-MEN. IN BRITISH CIVIL SERVICE,. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received Jan. 22, 10.35 a.m. LONDON. Jan. 21. Out of 21,000 ex-servicemen temporarily employed in the Civil Service 13,000 Avill henceforth be transferred to the permanent staff, under an agreement between the Treasury and the Ex-servicemen’s Association, by which was created a new class of ex-service civil seiwants, Avith security of tenure, but Avithout pens ion rights. The agreement also provides for the institution of a special examination, conferring permanently full pension rights on successful candidates. * The agreement crowns five years of efforts by the Association to secure better official recognition of ex-servicemen.—Reuter.
