COMPLAINT OF INACTIVITY

PALMERSTON N., Jan. 21 At a meeting of the Kaira.nga County Council to-dav, a motion was passed tithe effect that- other local bodies m No. 9 District Highways Group be circularised and requested to take- common action in approaching the. Government to raise a loan for the purpose oi main highways construction. Speaker's said that the whole position was unsatisfactory. lead the Highways Act, the district councils, and already taxation had been collected in -the county; yet when it came to raising money to construct the highways there was not body to which, they could go for money. It was also- decided that a protest be forwarded to No, 9 District Highways Council protesting against the inactivity and general lack ot information on the -subject of main highways.
