OPERA HOUSE—TO-NIGHT

“NORTH OF NEVADA.”

Fred Thomson’s display oi' horsemaiv ship in the H. J. Brown production “North of Nevada,” is remarkable, and displays the versatility of the man to a greater extent than heretofore. the rescue of the girl from the back of her runaway steed, the changing of himself and the girl from his horse to the wild animal that plunges headlong into seeming destruction, is a real thrill of a lifetime, and remarkable photography shows it to the finest degree. Larry Semon is on the same bill in ‘‘The Midnight Cabaret,” and patrons are assured of a first-class entertainment.

GRAND THEATRE—TO-MORROW (WEDNESDAY).

TOM MIX IN “OH, YOU TONY!”

Tom Mix, William Fox western star, and his wonder horse Tony are at the Grand Theatre again to-morrow night in a new comedy titled “Oh, You Tony!” In this picture, as in “Ladies to Board,” Tom shows that as a comedian he is second to none. One roar of laughter after another will greet the star’s antics acquiring etiquette m Washington, D.C., whither he had been sent bv a rancher’s association. Claire Adams', Dolores Rousse and Earle Foxe have the other important roles. A.full supporting programme will be presented, including a two-reel comedy, a fine scenic of the Canadian Alps and the latest Fox News.

ROYAL COMIC OPERA COMPANY

“THE MERRY WIDOW.”

Of all the comic operas and musical plays that have been produced during the last 25 years there is none that has attained the popularity of “The Merry Widow.” Written by- Fran/, Lehar an Austrian bandmaster —it was first presented at the Anwein Theatre in Vienna. Put up as a stop-gap, it leaped into instantaneous popularity, which it has succeeded in holding for a decade. “The Merry Widow” will be presented by the J. C. 'Williamson Royal Comic Opera Company to-moi-row .at 8 o’clock at the Opera House. An exceptional cast is promised, headed by Miss” Gladys Moncrieff, who will be seen as the Merry "Widow. As Sonia, Miss Moncrieff lias been the recipient of many eulogies from contemporaneous critics. Mr Leslie Holland will appear as Prince Danilo, and is said to give a very fine performance. The comedy is safe in the hands of Mr Arthur Stigant as Popoff. It is _ understood that this production is entirely new in til© matter of scenery and costumes. The box plans are at Cook’s, next theatre.
