The biggest, political. sensation for many a uay developed witn the announcement. that Senator Aiorah, chairman of the Foreign Committee, is breaking with, the Administration regarding the financial agreement signed in Paris last week. “It is a dangerous step which iuav entangle America in Europe, and make this Government morally, if not legally responsible as a partner with the Allied Powers in enforcing reparations payments against Germany, ’ said Mr. Borah, in reviewing the situation. Mr. Borali’s step is reminiscent ot the late Senator Lodge’s revolt against ' the late President Wilson, which nullified the League of Nations. Mr. Borah’s influence has grown greatly since he succeeded Mr. Lodge, anil he has been quite frank in declaring his opposition to the policy towards the Soviet. George Harvey, a former ambassador, writing in the Sunday Editorial, asserts that the agreement, is atrocious. He says: “America* is waiving in her indenendenee in European affairs. If Germany defaults and the Allies attempt to* collect by force, then we are in, for it.” WHAT WHTTFJ HOUSE SAYS. WASHINGTON.
