FRENCH TEAM DEFEATED.
BY 37 POINTS TO 8. ALL BLACKS TRIUMPHANT. (By Telegraph.—Special to the Star.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 12.' The All Blacks, by 37 points, defeated France, 8. TRIBUTE TO UNKNOWN SOLDIER. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIG HT, (Received Jan. "12, 11.40 a.m.) * PARIS, Jan. 11. The All Blacks placed wreaths on the tomb of the unknown soldier, where they were met by a representative of the Military Governor of Paris, M. Gouraud, who subsequently received the team at the Invalides. In the course of a long speech lie recalled the pleasant memories of the close relations with the Anzacs at the Dardanelles. Mr Dean, replying, said he hoped a French team would visit New Zealand shortly. Rutherford, the international secretary of the French Rugby Federation, withdrew from his usual position of touchline judge in order not to offend French susceptibilities.
