FIREMJSN MISSING. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATIONAUCKLAND, Jan. 9. Owing to the absence of two of her firemen, the Mamma’s departure tor Sydney to-day was delayed about four hours, the vessel finally getting away about 3 o’clock. The Mararna was ready to sail at the appointed time, except for the non-arrival of some members of her stokehold crew, and when she left the wharf she was taken to an .anchorage in the stream. The vacancies were filled early this afternoon and the vessel began her voyage to Sydney. ACCIDENT IN BATHS. AUCKLAND, Jan. 9. Diving into the shallow end of the Parnell baths, Alfred Jordon, a, single man of Parnell Road, struck his head on the bottom. He was pulled out immediately and conveyed to hospital in an unconscious condition. He leinained in this state until this evening, when it was reported he was semi-conscious.
