SYDNEY CIVIC AFFAIRS. SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS. DISCLOSURES EXPECTED. BY CABLE—TRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. Received Jan. 10, 11.35 a.m SYDNEY, Jan. 10. An allegation that a large quantity of electrical equipment had been supplied to certain sporting grounds and erected by the council’s workmen m the council’s time, without the council’s knowledge or permission, and the cost debited to the department, caused consternation at the Town Hall. The utmost reticence was observed by the Lord Mayor and other officials, but it is expected that sensational developments will occur within a day or two.
