PERSONAL ITEMS.
The Rev. G. S. Cook, of the Methodist Church, Onehunga, and Mrs Cook are at present visiting * their a sons, Messrs R. G. Cook and G. P. Cook and the latter’s families at Kaponga. They infend remaining at 'Kaponga. until Wednesday next. During the absence of Mr F. B. Wylds, manager of the Eltham branch of the Bank 'of New Zealand, on leave, Mi- Goldsmith, .of Haivera, will be acting-manager. Mr and Mrs Wylds and family will spend the greater part of their holiday at Opunake. A painful accident befell Mr C. Henty. of Eltham. while cutting a. hedge. The slasher slipped and cut his arm rather badly, requiring medical attention.
Captain W. G. Stevens, of the R.N.Z.A. headquarters, Wellington, has together with Mrs Stevens, been visiting Mr and Mrs G. P. Cook, of Kaponga. Captain and Mrs Stevens anticipate departing, at an early date for England, where Captain Stevens is to undergo a three years’ course of instruction in the Military Staff College and the War Office. Captain Stevens returned to Wellington on. Tuesday. Mrs Stevens is remaining at Kaponga until Saturday.
