Mr. Winston Churchill (First Lord of the Admiralty at the time Earl Beatty was appointed) states: “Adi miral Sir Reginald Bacon seems angry with both Earl Beatty and me. Nevertheless, I am proud of the fact that I appointed Beatty there.”
