Hurried negotiations are proceeding in Germany with the various Powers remedying , the customs arrangements from January 10, on which date Germany’s obligations tb give tlie Allies the most favoured nation treatment expires. No agreement lias yet been reached with France, Italy or Belgium, but Britain’s position is secured by the recent commercial treaty. Reuter learns in this connection, however, that Germany does not intend to extend the most favoured nation treatment to the Dominions unless the latter respond similarly. Negotiations have already been opened by Canada.
