LONDON, Jan. 3. A terrible sea drama is reported from the coast of Brittany, where the steamer Alfreda, from Cardiff to Bayonne, was wrecked in a furious gale. The sea- filled the engine room, and the captain, after vainly sending out an S.O.S. ordered the .abandonment of the ship. The crew drifted helplessly in the ship’s beat without food or water, and with little clothing. Six collapsed and died. Thirteen survivors landed at Orajou. The majority lay unconscious on the beach while the others sought help. Meantime the boat noth six corpses drifted to sea and has not- been seen again.
