SCHOOL MAGAZINES.
“TAHANAKIAN.” Once more we lire pleased to acknowledge a copy of the very fine school magazine of New Plymouth Boys’ High School. This number is well on a par with its former numbers, and . serves well to demonstrate the great work being done at New Plymouth, as at all the high schools of the Dominion. The scope of the magazine shows what a wide field of activity is covered —scholastic, athletic, agricultural, artistic, and shooting. In every phase of work the school has taken a worthy part, and has done well in keeping the standard of the high schools of the Dominion, which are doing so much in building up the life of the nation. The magazine is a good one, recording the work of the school in all its aspects. The compilation of these school journals has a value far beyond the mere record of doings, for they assist in maintaining the spirit of justifiable pride in one’s_ Alma Mater, which are important factors in the life of 1 the schools and through them of the nation. “BLUE AND WHITE.” A copy of -the excellent magazine of St. Patrick’s 'College, Wellington, is acknowledged from the editor. As usual, it shows the wid© rang© of work don© in that school, covering as it does scholastic, artistic, military, and athletic activities, each of which in itself covers a wide field. The records show that St. Patrick’s College is \jfirthily upholding the traditions formed during the last forty years, and well and truly fulfilling the destiny that must have been in the mind of its reverend founder, his Grace Archbishop Redwood, through whose optimism and confidence in the future the people of Wellington were influenced to go with him in such a great and noble cause. His confidence has been more than justified in the progress of time. St. Patrick’s will ere long he coming to her jubilee year, and no one conld wish those i?i charge a greater success than was secured by her sister institution, Wellington College, in which ceremonies the rector. Very Rev. Dr. Gilbert, took a worthy part. The magazine is a very fine production, both from a literary and a typographical point of view. Its compilation also does credit to the editor and all concerned.
