NO WISH TO REPUDIATE. BY CABLE— PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT, PARIS; Dec. 31. The Alinister for Finance (Al. Clementel), in receiving Anglo-American press representatives, _ reiterated that b ranee had not the slightest intention of repudiating he r war debts to-Britain and America, but was of the opinion that the principle of capacity to pay, as applied in tlie case of Germany, should also be applied to Allied debtors. He favoured a general settlement of Allied debts on the lines of the Dawes scheme, but without such control as was imposed on Germany, because the'-e was no reason for it in the case of a debtor who was not refractory.
