AGED MAN’S OFFENCE.
SIX MONTHS’ IMPRISONMENT. (BY TELEGRA.EH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) PALMERSTON N., Dec. 31. Ihornas Hume (75) was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment’ for wilful obscene exposure. At the Police Court it was stated that accused on Ghristmas Day, in the Square reserve, twice exposed hiniself in the presence of children- whom he beckoned to. On arrest several pieces of paper ' .with rhymes of a suggestive character were foqnd on accused.- Accused, speaking m an educated voice, said he had lived : an unbleipished life, and denied the commission of the offence, saying that some temporary reason seemed to have caused accused to become almost a sexual maniac.
“Children must be protected,” said the Magistrate, who sentenced accused as stated. ; : • •
