CHRISTMAS WEEK IN HAWERA. From the Supetvisor of Telegraphs we cordially acknowledge the details of telegraph work done in the local office for December 22, 23 and 24, and a comparison'with last year. The figure* are as follow, those for 1923 being given in parentheses: December 22 —Forwarded 245, received 235, transmits 43,, totalling 523 (490), V

December 23—Forwarded : 480, received 353, transmits 73—906 (592). December 24—Forwarded 710, received 897, transmits 316—1923 (1637). The figures are interesting as showing a very considerable increase oh each, day, a gross increase for the three days of 633 riiessages. The increase for the two latter days is' quite remarkable, and shows how the public used the office for Christmas messages.
